#angiorrhexis
- Angiorrhexis — A sudden, spontaneous, or traumatic rupture of a blood vessel wall (artery or vein), followed by a massive hemorrhage into the surrounding tissues or body cavities. This clinical structural phenomenon occurs most often on the background of pre-existing parietal fragility caused by an aneurysmal dilation, a tumorous ulcerative process, or a well-defined necrotic inflammation, constituting a major medical emergency.
