• Angiogenesis — A structural and physiological biological process through which the organism forms and develops new blood vessels from pre-existing vascular structures. This phenomenon, alternatively called angiogenesis, plays a fundamental role in embryonic development, wound healing, and scar formation, but is also pathologically involved in tumor growth or proliferative retinopathies via endothelial growth factors.
