#anatomical terms
- Aristero — A linguistic term borrowed from Ancient Greek (aristeros), used in scientific or medical terminology as a combining form meaning 'left' or 'situated on the left side'. Although rarely encountered as an independent adjective in contemporary Romanian, its structural root underlies niche concepts describing anatomical asymmetry or left spatial orientation.
- Knucklebone — A small bone from the hind leg joint of horned animals (especially sheep or goats), anatomically called the talus or astragalus; historically, this bone was cleaned and used by children as a main piece in a popular game of dexterity on the streets of Romanian villages.
- Astragalar — The feminine form of the adjective astragalian; belonging to the astragalus (the talus bone of the ankle), relating to this short bone of the tarsus, or positioned in its structural anatomical proximity. It is used in medical or surgical descriptions to indicate specific articular facets, ligamentous zones, or bony structures of the hindfoot region.
