• Exile — A residual archaic, bookish, or rare poetic form, sometimes used in the past as a variant for 'străinătate' (foreign lands) or for the state of absolute isolation of the spirit. In certain early romantic writings or old translations of philosophical texts, the word suggested a melancholic rupture from one's homeland, a long wandering among strangers, or the mental state of a person who no longer finds their place at home.
