- Adaptation — An obsolete noun form used in 19th-century and early 20th-century legal, philosophical, or scientific texts as a variant for the process of adapting or fitting something to new circumstances. The term was gradually replaced in modern Romanian by the standardized forms 'adaptare' and 'adaptație', currently remaining a historical indicator of neologistic vocabulary evolution.
