- Allotriophagy — A feeding and eating disorder or perversion of the nutritive instinct characterized by the irresistible impulse and pathological tendency to consume non-food, non-nutritive substances (such as soil, chalk, coal, ice, ash, paper, or hair). This structural clinical phenomenon is clinically associated with pica syndrome, encountered in severe anemias, grave mineral deficiencies, pregnancy, or complex neuropsychiatric conditions.
