#German origin

• Adelaida — A proper noun of Old High German origin (Adalheidis), composed of the elements 'adal' (noble) and 'heid' (kind, sort, essence), meaning 'of noble birth' or 'of a noble nature'. As a geographical name, it represents the Romanian variant for Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. Historically, it was borne by empresses and holy queens of Western Europe.
• Adelstein — A surname of Germanic or Ashkenazi Jewish origin, literally translated as 'precious stone' or 'noble stone'. As a cultural and historical entity, this name often reflects social status, craftsmanship related to mineral processing, or a symbolic onomastic attribution from Central and Eastern Europe, borne by prominent figures in literature, science, and art.
