- Aspern — A historical locality in Austria, situated east of Vienna on the left bank of the Danube, currently integrated into the capital's Donaustadt district; it became famous in world history due to the Battle of Aspern-Essling in May 1809, where the Austrian army led by Archduke Charles managed to inflict Napoleon Bonaparte's first major personal tactical defeat on the battlefield.
