#Apollonios

• Apollonios — The name of several scholars, scientists, and writers from Ancient Greece and the Hellenistic period, the most famous being Apollonius of Perga (3rd century BC), a geometric genius who revolutionized the study of conic sections, Apollonius of Rhodes, an epic poet author of the 'Argonautica', and Apollonius of Tyana, a Neopythagorean philosopher. These figures represent structural pillars of scientific and literary evolution in the classical Mediterranean basin.
• Apollonius — A linguistic variant adapted into the Romanian language for the historical Greek name Apollonios or the Latin Apollonius, used to denote the great scholars of the Hellenistic era; most frequently refers to Apollonius of Perga, the mathematician who laid the foundations for the study of conics, or the Stoic philosopher Apollonius of Chalcedon. This scholarly onomastic form is predominantly used in academic works on the history of science and philology.
