• Alleppey — A coastal city and municipality located in the southwestern Indian state of Kerala, officially renamed Alappuzha. It is world-famous as a major tourism hub due to its vast network of interconnected canals, lagoons, and lakes (backwaters), being dubbed the 'Venice of the East' by Lord Curzon, and hosts the historic annual Nehru Trophy Boat Race.
