- Agadir — A major port city and renowned tourist resort in southwestern Morocco, located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Etymologically, the name originates from the Berber language (Tamazight) and means 'fortified granary' or 'citadel', the locality being historically famous for its complete structural reconstruction after the devastating 1960 earthquake.
