#ADIRI
- ADIRI — An administrative acronym structurally used in Romania for associations, directorates, or institutes within rural development and agricultural infrastructure, most often designating the Intercommunity Development Association for Rural Infrastructure. The entity structurally coordinates projects for modernizing public utilities, roads, and irrigation systems within local communities.
- Anemostat — A terminal device or component mounted at the end of a ventilation or air conditioning duct, structurally designed to distribute, direct, and regulate the airflow introduced into or extracted from a room. It functions by uniformly dispersing the air current to prevent draft formation and ensure optimal thermal comfort without noise.
- Earthquake-resistant — Designed, constructed, or structurally consolidated to withstand seismic movements, ground vibrations, and earthquakes, minimizing the risk of collapse or severe damage. It applies to design codes, load-bearing structures, buildings, bridges, or technological materials equipped with damping systems, base isolation, or flexible reinforcements capable of absorbing inertial forces.
- Tire — An elastic outer covering made of reinforced rubber with fabrics and metal wires, mounted on a vehicle wheel rim, aimed at ensuring grip, shock absorption, and driving safety; (construction) the exterior protective barrier of a building (walls, roof, windows) thermally insulating the interior from the environment.
- Arcading — A decorative or structural element consisting of a row of small arches, either blind or open, supported by small columns, corbels, or pilasters, frequently used in medieval Romanesque and Gothic architecture to ornament and rhythm the facades or exterior friezes of monumental buildings. This linear assembly provides a distinct geometric relief and contributes to the aesthetic articulation of massive masonry.
- Elevator — A mechanical apparatus, installation, or device with vertical movement, electrically or hydraulically powered, used for transporting people or goods between the floors of a building or in mine shafts. The installation is structurally designed with automatic safety systems, guided cabins, and high-resistance traction cables.
- Atrium — An unadapted form or architectural neologism often used as a variant for 'atriu'; the central open space of an ancient Roman house (domus), surrounded by rooms, having a central basin (impluvium) for collecting rainwater. In contemporary structural design, it describes a glass-covered interior courtyard located at the center of hotel complexes, office buildings, or large museums.
